Vision/Mission
 

Prevent Child Abuse – Johnson County
assists the community in providing an effective response to the problems of children and families, with a focus on preventing child abuse and neglect. PCA-JC engages in activities to increase the awareness of and prevent incidence of child abuse and neglect in Johnson County.

Purpose/Focus
 

The activities of PCA-JC focus on four areas:

1. Public Awareness
2. Community Education
3. Coordination of Community Resources/Activities/Services
4. Local Prevention & Treatment Programs

Council Description

Prevent Child Abuse-Johnson County is the local child abuse prevention council. Membership includes individuals and representatives from organizations that support the vision and mission of PCA-JC.
PCA-JC is governed by a Board of Directors elected by the full council membership.

We’re having a baby shower!!

PCA-JC is ‘adopting’ 3 new ‘babies’! We plan to be the proud caregivers of three baby dolls that simulate what happens when a baby is shaken or born with prenatal drug or alcohol exposure. These babies will be part of our public education activities to prevent child abuse. Click here for more information about Shaken Baby Syndrome.
